NAMF’s Health and Wellness Program focuses on improving the health of the Muslim community through prevention and support programs. Our program places emphasis on reducing inequalities in healthcare by identifying barriers to access and creating programs that fill these gaps. In 2013, alongside Toronto Public Health, NAMF offered a Peer Leadership Program for the Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes. Community members are encouraged to become advocates for their own health and highlight their health needs so that we can work with relevant stakeholders in reaching optimal wellbeing for all people.
