Outline of NAMF Speech Competition Procedure:
Ontario schools are informed of the topic of the current competition and are provided with evaluation guidelines and judging criteria.
Ontario schools are invited to nominate their representative (current rules limit to students from Grade 6 to Grade 8) after going through their internal process.
Participants are randomly assigned timeslots during the program to deliver 3-5 minute oral presentations.
Speeches are assessed by a panel of independent judges from journalism and academia according to pre-determined criteria.
Top-ranking speeches (first, second, third positions) are awarded prizes, and respective schools receive display trophies.
All representatives are awarded certificates of participation.
